Peterborough Empowerment Service
There is no one way and no “right way” to respond to the trauma of sexual violence. Each person has their own experience and their own responses to those experiences. These may include physical, mental, emotional impacts as well as social and financial. The Empowerment Service provides holistic support to meet the needs of the individual survivor, supporting them to hold on to the hope for change, peace and safety and empowering them to build resilience and take back control of their lives.
This service is delivered by specially trained volunteers and comes in the form of one-to-one telephone support, face to face support and advocacy. The Empowerment Service is able to provide short term and long term support and is based on the needs of the individual.
